The 2024 season of League of Legends is well into its second month on the live servers. Riot Games is focusing on champions that could use some help in their respective roles. Riot Phroxzon, the lead gameplay designer for League, has provided players with a preview of the upcoming Patch 14.4.

League of Legends Patch 14.4: Exciting Buffs to Champions and Release Date Revealed

Buffs to Champions

Patch 14.4 brings a welcomed plethora of buffs to champions that have not received attention in some time. These buffs aim to increase their viability at all levels of play.

  • Jayce, Renekton, and Volibear will receive buffs, opening up more options for the top lane meta. Volibear, in particular, will undergo a massive overhaul to nearly all of his abilities.

  • Ahri and Kai’Sa, members of K/DA, will also receive buffs. Both champions have experienced unexpected decreases in their win rates with the start of the new season.

  • Thresh, Lulu, and Soraka, who have struggled with the recent item changes, will also receive buffs. These champions have historically been strong in various levels of play.

Testing and Release

The changes will be available for testing on the PBE within the next few days. The development team will reveal further details and reasoning behind the buffs. The changes, possibly altered compared to the patch preview, will be released officially on Feb. 22 with Patch 14.4.

Keep an eye out for these buffs and see how they impact the game!
